The assassin was very effective in 1.04e. I liked the bombs.

You could simply use the v1.04e version of the characters until they're fixed.

If I were to re-enable the unplayable characters, they'd immediately be inferior choices to the Sorceress and Barbarian. And very glitchy.

Only the Sorceress and Barbarian are playable as a design choice. To overhaul an entire character's skill trees to Immersion's skill paradigm takes a long time. A lot of modding and a lot of testing.
